You might see Ma'at represented in places like the Museum of Ancient Egypt wearing a feather on her head. Sometimes she has wings. The goddess of truth, justice, Ma'at kept order between humans and in the natural world. When a person died, she would weigh his or her heart against her feather. A heavy heart represented one full of sin, while a light one represented a pure heart. Only those with pure hearts were found worthy to move on the afterlife and to live there for all eternity.
