Have you ever wondered how they made papyrus paper in ancient Egypt? I've broken it down into five simple steps.

THE LETTER "S" in Hieroglyphics

The ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol for the letter "S" is the cloth. 

Take a close look at the symbol above. It looks like a piece of cloth hanging over the back of a chair! Or maybe a towel hanging on a towel rack in the bathroom.

The Cloth = "S"

The cloth symbol is the for the letter "S"

It is pronounced "Sss" as in SOFT.

REMEMBER KEY: 

Cloth is soft, a word that starts with 'S'.

Think S for SOFT CLOTH to remember its shape. 

WRITE YOUR NAME
